Abstract

The article deals with personnel protection from electric field damaging effect by using of mobile devices
that control electric field level and are placed just beside of human body. The author is giving the results of numerical
simulation of how external regular electric field is distorted by human body at various working poses
associated with movements of extended and bent arms. The calculation was performed in engineering package
of finite element analysis Ansys. The article states that lifting up arms decreases electric field distortion coefficient
at the point located in 2 cm upward vertically above the head. At that, lifting up one extended arm at
0…180° angle changes electric field intensity by 37 % relative to value for 0°, and lifting up both extended
arms changes intensity by 63 %. Lifting up bent arms at 0..100° angle relative to body changes coefficient of
electric field distortion by 13 % max. Findings are essential for designing of mobile devices that control electric
field level and are built into protective helmets.
